Breaths & Beats Ride 2024

Breaths & Beats Ride 2024

On Sunday 21 April 2024, more than 230 riders took part in the second annual Capital Limited Breaths & Beats Ride for Research.  Starting and ending at our brand-new location of Sir James Mitchell Park in South Perth, the 29km ride raised in excess of $250,000 for the Heart and Lung Research Institute WA (HLRI).

We are so proud to have raised this incredible amount for advanced heart and lung research and we would like to thank everyone who donated to the 2024 ride.

This year, we were delighted to bring on board our title sponsor, mining services company Capital Limited. With an office in Perth, its HQ located in London, and operations across a further three continents, this year’s Breaths & Beats ride has had an international reach. Capital Limited, we cannot thank you enough for your commitment to supporting the 2024 Breaths & Beats ride.

This ride would not be possible without our 10 fabulous team sponsors: Muzz Buzz, 99 Bikes, DonateLife WA, Mercedes and Westpoint Star, XVIVO, HPA, Medtronic, South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) and Delta Corporation. Your support for the ride and our wonderful Team Leaders is immensely appreciated.

Speaking of our Team Leaders, they were instrumental in motivating our charity riders and highlighting the incredible work of HLRI.

We are honoured that you shared your amazing stories with us and the heart and lung transplant community. Thank you for always inspiring us and demonstrating such a powerful resilience and positive outlook on life.

On Sunday, our riders were lucky to have beautiful sunny weather conditions which made the South Perth Foreshore the perfect backdrop for our ride and first ever Capital Limited Community Picnic.

A big thanks to Muzz Buzz for brewing delicious coffees for our riders and 99 Bikes who helped check all the riders’ gear so they could take off with peace of mind their equipment was in top shape.

The fabulous Tina Altieri was our MC for the day, who along with the vibrant Muzz Buzz dancers and the heart and lung transplant community cheered loudly as our riders crossed the finish line.

As our riders made it back to the foreshore, our Community Picnic picked up a lively atmosphere with plenty of kids’ entertainment, food trucks, stalls, music and presentations.

Huge credit to the volunteers who made the Capital Limited 2024 Breaths & Beats event happen.

Thanks for giving up your Sunday morning to ensure our riders were safe and their friends and family had a fantastic experience.

So, what about next year?

We can now share that the 2025 Capital Limited Breaths & Beats will take place on Sunday 6 April 2025.

Stay tuned for information on how to pre-register for the 2025 ride.

We can’t wait to get stuck into organising next year’s event and making it bigger and more successful than ever.
